Melted Cheese Sessions #1 Vacherin Mont d'Or
A whole baked Vacherin for two, fondue in a box!
Sancey Richard are one of the smallest makers of Mont d’Or in France, and their attention to detail is second to none. While many Mont d’Or makers no longer wash their cheeses, Sancey Richard’s are given a regular wash in brine, giving their rinds a distinct pink colour, and making them a truly washed rind cheese. Similarly, the cheeses are wrapped in stout spruce bands, which lend a distinct pine-y resinous flavour to the paste. The result is a cheese of real character, the rich sweet paste given a refreshing twang from the spruce.
This event is a celbration of one France’s great AOC cheeses. A cheese that in it’s natural state is a pleaseure to behold but when baked with garlic, herbs and a touch of white wine, a whole new enjoyment ensues.
Ticket price for two includes, whole baked Vacherin, cooked ham, pickles, bread and potatoes for dipping. Bottle of house red or white wine or traditional English Cider. Additional drinks can be purchased on the night.
There will be two sittings, 6-8 or 8-10 please be sure to select your prefered time when making your booking.
